Sel<lection>: You're just space!

Last week, we hosted the latest session of our educational project Sel<lection>, where star speakers shared invaluable knowledge and professional lifehacks with our guests. These insights were designed to bridge the gap between recruiters and technical specialists.
Among the highlights, Yakov Khovanskiy, Head of Technology Development at Alfa-Bank, shed light on the role of a systems' analyst. He also charted the path to becoming a “Jedi in the field”, outlined a smooth transition into the profession, and shared where to find the candidates who can excel at technical interviews.
Regarding “red flags” in CVs, Yakov pointed out the following:
  • Ambiguous Descriptions of Past Roles: Clarity is key; vague details can raise doubts about your experience.
  • Frequent Job Hopping: Stability and commitment are valued; frequent changes may imply a lack of required skills.
  • Gaps in Employment History: Unexplained gaps can elicit concerns about reliability and continuity.
  • Omission of Key Personal Details: Missing photo, age, or educational background can create an incomplete picture of your professional profile.
Artem Badyshev, Lead of VK AI Testing Group, provided insights on how a technical specialist can secure a desired position— from drafting a compelling resume to succeeding in an interview.

Artem emphasized the importance of candidates posing questions at the end of an interview to showcase their genuine interest in the role and leave a lasting positive impression:

“Focus on learning more about processes and tools rather than salary expectations and the next promotion.”
Stay tuned as we unfold these interview secrets and many more invaluable insights in our forthcoming blog posts.
Tatiana Nikonova, HR Manager at Selecty, noted:
“The speakers provided extremely valuable insights that will help conduct productive interviews and achieve mutual goals — candidates securing their dream positions, and recruiters finding the right talent.”

P.S. The Journey Continues!
We're already crafting more extraordinary educational experiences.
